Overall, we had a lot of fun with FaceBreaker. The controls are simple and easy to pick up, with each character's personality adding extra appeal to the simplified style of boxing presented in the game. But while it may be simple, we picked up on certain areas where strategy is a must. The most notable area is with FaceBreakers. When you use the first or second tier, you'll drop your FaceBreaker meter back to zero. What that does is knock away a substantial portion of your opponent's health, but you'll, then, need to build it back up all over again for the next special move. This adds a fun risk-reward element to the fighting. You're constantly at odds with your instinct to pummel your opponent as savagely as you can right at that moment, but in the back of your head, you know you can guarantee yourself a victory if you patiently build that FaceBreaker gauge all the way up to the top.

Wolfenstein Preview FunnyGames, August 4, 2008Wolfenstein is being created for simultaneous release on the PC, PS3, and 360 - previously, id as well as other PC-centric developers have moved away from their home platform and towards consoles, citing piracy as well as difficulty with sales overall as the reason. Some thought that meant that id was abandoning the PC altogether or intended on tossing together a sloppy console-like port as an afterthought, but if Wolfenstein is the standard that they're setting for themselves, I don't think we have much to worry about. id's own Kevin Cloud said that his home platform is still the PC and his playtesting sessions with this game take place on PC. For the demo I saw it on the 360, but Raven's Eric Biessman said that they could have brought the PC version too except that they didn't feel like bringing a gaming-based desktop PC with them on the plane, and that the 360 is more portable in that regard.
pressed on, though, and asked about the game engine - it's based originally on the Quake 4 engine but in the four years since that was released, Raven's changed the engine enough for Wolfenstein that it's pretty much separate technology by now. I also expressed doubts about what kind of a PC release we'd get when consoles have to be...>>

MLB 07: The Show (PS3) FunnyGames, May 28, 2007...The new tweaks in the game go from bland to broken to pretty awesome. Pitchers get a new feature with a fancy name adaptive pitching intelligence. What is this space-age George Jetson gadgetry? Suggested pitches. While standing on the mound, the game suggests a pitch to you it's not cumbersome or annoying, but it is not really as interesting as its name.
Also more sparkle than substance is the online game. Sony has considerably beefed up its online offerings, building in league play that can simulate a season with up to thirty online players, and updating rosters through the season. But the actual games themselves are spotty and laggy and that is the death knoll for a game that relies so heavily upon timing...
