Funny News: Spider Man 3
May 28, 2007: Spider Man 3...The game controls are essentially the same as what we've seen since Spider-Man 2. You'll swing through the city on web ropes which are shot and swung from by pressing and holding the R trigger (R2 on the PS3). Releasing the button causes Spidey to let go; press it again while in mid-air and you get another web rope and another swing. It's a very simple mechanic that's worked amazingly well in the past and continues to do so in this game...
...Much like the last game, you'll advance the story by traveling through the city to event markers, each of which is connected to one of the game's many missions. The narrative is far more open-ended this time around, with plenty of Spidey villains not featured in the films (though the geriatric Vulture doesn't show his liver-spotted head for once) and three gangs tearing the city apart, each having its own territories and mission line...

We're really going to try our best not to blame The Rock for the human travesty that was DOOM: The Movie. I mean, they didn't let him be the super cool, one-liner spitting badass we know and love, instead relegating him to a ridiculously cliched soldier who goes too far. But despite that misstep, we still love the big lug, and have hope that he may be able to bring a little respect to videogame movies when Spy Hunter comes out in 2007.
Beating the flick to the punch, however, Midway is hard at work on Spy Hunter: Nowhere to Run, a PS2 and Xbox title set to hit stores this summer. Thankfully, even though the game will beat out the movie by a year, it'll still feature the voice, likeness and undeniable presence ...

You may be wondering if we really needed a video game based on the hit TV show Lost. While the show has a legion of fans, they've already got their hands full with the alternate reality game that went around and tons of mysteries still going on in each episode. But here comes Ubisoft with a licensed game, whether we like it or not. And frankly, unless you enjoy both light adventure games and the actual show, you'll probably not make it through this one. But for that narrow combination of fans of both, this can wind up being a pretty solid game...
...I'm not a huge adventure gaming fan, but I found that exploration and just taking in all the Lost-like stuff to be the best part of Via Domus. Solving fusebox puzzles by fiddling around with wiring is a significant part of your adventures...
