July 3, 2006: 50 worst videogame names everFrom Dick Butkus to Hootie and the Blowfish to Lake Titicaca, bad names for games have been with us forever. But thanks to the inevitable collision of reclusive nerds, bizarre artists and painfully unhip marketing execs, the video game industry enjoys some of the worst game names of all.
The following game name list was compiled after hours of lively debate, pages of exhausting science and one actual geek fistfight. During this laborious process, we decided to set up a few basic rules:
1. All games must have been wide releases for legitimate, popular platforms.
2. We tried to avoid games heavy on the Engrish. Translation errors are just too easy.

Speedball 2 Review FunnyGames, October 29, 2007For older gamers with fond memories of the gems that graced our consoles (and computers) in the 80s and 90s, Xbox Live has been a dream come true. Retro titles that may otherwise been impossible to find, have slowly been popping up on Microsofts service boasting interesting new features and enhanced graphics. Last weeks release of the Bitmap Brothers classic take on the future of sports, Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe is no exception. In addition to sporting more teams in league play, some light RPG elements, and new enhanced graphics, also on the table is multiplayer support over Xbox Live. For fans of retro gaming it rarely gets better than this.
Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe is one of those fun pick up and play games that doesn't require memorization of a lot of controls or is bound by overly complex rules. As one of two teams your goal, quite simply, is to throw a ball into the goal to score. Points are also garnered by injuring players, hitting targets around the arena, and collecting powerups that can give a much needed boost during some later frantic league matches.

...This racing game has not changed substantially - you still pilot a car at breakneck speeds through the crowded streets of unnamed cities. You get points for driving recklessly. Weaving through oncoming traffic and drifting around corners builds up boost, which then can be triggered for a scary speed burst...
...Instead of racing, most of the events take the form of challenges: drift for over 9,000 yards, complete a lap in under a minute, take out fifteen cars. These are neat mini games, but here they have almost completely replaced the basic racing game which is rubber-banded to death anyway...
